I've encountered a couple of books and the writer that I feel ~every~ artist should read! The anime character enthusiest for example is a good candidate for his books. "Understanding Comics" and "Making Comics" by the almighty "Scott McCloud!" [link] I'd link you, but DA turns the links into jibberish. I'm sure you can find them at a library. They are extreemly good for anyone that draws! Best for the comic enthusiest like me-- but quality reading for anyone else.
When I was finished reading these, I felt a whole new feeling of enlightnement. It's like having gone to school on the topic-- there's alot to learn, and it's tought ever so well. I wanted to pass it on. If you're still feeling down about your work, ol' Scott might be the man to help pick you up.
